AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Liverpool due to injury.

Ibrahimovic suffers a hamstring injury Having just recovered from a knee injury, he came back to the reserve and scored in Milan’s 2-0 Serie A win over Lazio last weekend. Unfortunately missed the first important game in the UEFA Champions League this season.

However, coach Stefano Pioli will return Olivier Giroud after the France striker spent early in the month in quarantine because he tested positive for COVID-19.

Giroud is one of four forwards alongside Rafael Leao, Ante Rebic and Daniel Maldini in Pioli’s 21-man squad. That travel to England for the Champions League group stage first leg away to Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday.
